the biggest adventure...life

I am TERRIBLE at blogging...I don't know why I even have one.

Maybe to keep me on my toes...like I need help with that!

This year has been a big blur. Moving so quickly, we are entering the holiday season. it was just yesterday we were in the Christmas Season announcing to the world we were blessed with another rainbow/miracle baby!

So an update on our life!

Bekah is now 4 years old, and we celebrated in a Sparkling diva fashion with a 4th of July sparkling fourth celebration. Our closest friends and family came and ate and jumped and enjoyed sparklers!
We spent her actual birthday on an adventure. If there is one thing about Bekah...she loves adventures. So Brian, Bekah, and I loaded up the car with clothes, coolers, and a few presents!
Throughout the day, we decided to let her open presents that would help her with whatever the adventure led us to. Her first present was a Mermaid Barbie. This present would help keep her occupied while we traveled. We headed south to the Gulf Coast Zoo because of course Bekah loves animals! She got to feed some of the animals which she LOVED!!!
We then settled into the car, where she opened 2 more gifts...a new bathing suit, and towel...what would she need those for? The Beach of course! We stopped by the white sandy beach for a couple hours so she could swim and build sandcastles. After a fun stop, we loaded up and headed home for our traditional birthday dinner at Nonna & Poppa's house. We ate spaghetti and had cake & ice cream, followed by more presents!

This momma was so tired (being a bazillion months pregnant and all), but I so enjoyed doing one last big adventure with my girl! the pictures are one to treasure always!

Only a few short days later...we Welcomed Kaleb Miles Adair into our world. At 10lbs. 5 oz. and 22 inches long our big boy was here! Big Sister or "sissy" as she calls herself now was so excited!

Since July1st...its been go gO GO...GOOOOO!

Bekah started school this year! Thank you Dear Lord! She needed it, and I needed her out of the house...how moms go about their day with 2 kids...they are truly saints! lol....

She LOVES learning...and boy have they learned a lot! She sings when she wakes up and when she goes to bed and every time in between!

Kaleb is growing like a weed...he LOVES sitting Up... I believe he will be like his Sissy... a great Adventurer!

So...until I remember or something big happens....I'm off to our next adventure with #onemoreadair!

Christmas in July

July seems to be a great month for super sales on things that people will gift at Christmas. It gets me all excited because Christmas is my favorite holiday. So July being the 6 month countdown makes me bubble with excitement! Now that Bekah is old enough to understand Christmas, it makes me even more excited to introduce all of my childhood traditions and making new memories and traditions with her.

The hottest Christmas tradition now is the elf on the shelf. Now there are so many opinions in this new phenomenon. I love the idea of it. I can make this tradition into what would be best for our family!

Another tradition I have discovered in the last year is the Truth in the Tinsel advent curriculum. We bought the church curriculum for our EBC kiddos to work through and it turned out great! It brought a whole new light to the Christmas Story.

So this idea came to me! What if I combined these two great ideas? My plan is to purchase the Truth in the Tinsel ebook from www.truthinthetinsel.com and have Bekah's new girl elf introduce each daily truth to her! What better way for us to incorporate worldly traditions with our Faith!

I can't wait to get started and prepare for the soon to be upcoming Holiday season!

Merry Christmas in July from our family to yours!

My Baptist Lent Adventure...

A group of young ladies are into week 4 of our Beth Moore's Daniel study. WOW God is surely moving within my heart! At the beginning we were encouraged to give something up like Daniel gave up the King's Choice foods. He ate only fruits and veggies. My original something was to not buy books. I LOVE buying books, so that has helped my pocketbook a lot! But the more and more I think about it, I feel God is leading me to a different challenge.

Most people know I am not a housekeeping wife...i actually detest it! My husband can vouch for that! So when every one on Facebook has been talking about giving things up for lent, it got me thinking. Why can't Baptist give up something to prepare our hearts for Easter. AND, it would help me more with my Daniel study.
Of course Pinterest gave me the perfect solution for this project that will help get rid of the clutter I keep and make my husband happy at the same time!...40 bags in 40 days!

I've read so many things about it. I was very intimidated by it at first because not all areas of my house need a huge black garbage bag. One lady suggested using grocery bags for those small areas! Great idea that will help me out and those days I don't have a lot of time, can be easily done after Bekah goes to bed! It mentions to not focus on the "container" as the spot you are bagging up! It even mentions furniture! So my options are limitless

So here goes nothing...my Baptist Lent Adventure...40 Bags in 40 Days!

My Advocare Story

7 1/2 months ago, I had the greatest gift enter my life. Bekah Laine has been a true joy in our lives. However, I have felt so drained and unable to keep up with this wild child of mine. She is always happy(well most of the time) and ALWAYS on the GO! I just couldn't keep up. I thought that this was the way it was suppose to be. I was unhappy not with my life with Bekah but the way I FELT interacting with her.

A dear friend of mine, Candis Busby, seemed like the "perfect" mom with 2 kids and a newborn who was up all night long. She had her stuff together. I wanted to know how she managed her life being up for what seemed like 24 hours at a time.

She explained to me she didn't have it together, but that ADVOCARE got her through those LOOOOONG Nights.

OKAY!!! How do I get my stuff together? I felt like a bad mom for not doing my best with Bekah and not having my life in order...i do realize that nobody has everything together, but I felt like I really didn't.

So begins my love affair with ADVOCARE.

I started January 1, 2013 with the Herbal Cleanse. OMyDad! that fiber drink is a HORRIBLE NO GOOD STUFF!...but I managed my way through day after day. I was actually starting to feel a little better! Herbal cleanse down! Max C and SPARK begins.

This daily regiment was so easy! One packet 30 min before breakfast, and one packet during breakfast. Now I am not a breakfast eater, so Candis suggested that I eat a granola bar or something small. Therefore, I eat a granola bar or some eggs. Nothing HUGE.
Lunch time: one packet 30 min. before lunch and one packet during lunch. I try and I mean TRY (this doesnt always happen....maybe like twice a week) a salad or just meat.
Then maybe a light snack
and then Supper. I usually eat whatever I want.

This program is not designed for you to restrict your eating, but to enhance and better what you do eat.

Within the first 12 days of ADVOCARE, I lost 5 lbs without changing my diet or exercising.

I was able to manage staying awake and not screaming whenever Bekah did not sleep.

Now being 43 days into ADVOCARE, I FEEL better, and have lost weight and inches. I am able to wear a pair of pants that were way to tight at Christmas. GO ME!

I have started working out regularly, and try to manage my diet. This program has saved me from depression, some anxiety, and becoming a recluse mom.

I WANT to get out and do things.
 I WANT to work out.
I WANT to maintain this lifestyle.

and...

I WANT you to try it....it works, trust me or just ask!!!

hannah's prayer

September 30, 2012, our families gathered together with our church family to dedicate Rebekah Elaine to the Lord. This is a commitment that Brian and I do not take lightly. We believe that God wants us as parents to raise Bekah up in His word. Our commitment during this ceremony is a public statement to our families, and church family that we are committed to raising her within the church and prepare her to make the decision to become a follower of Christ. We pray that when it comes time, that she will make the decision just like we have!

Hannah's Prayer is a constant reminder to put God first in Rebekah's life...1 Samuel 1

Hannah Dedicates Samuel

21 When her husband Elkanah went up with all his family to offer the annual sacrifice to the Lord and to fulfill his vow, 22 Hannah did not go. She said to her husband, “After the boy is weaned, I will take him and present him before the Lord, and he will live there always.”[c]
23 “Do what seems best to you,” her husband Elkanah told her. “Stay here until you have weaned him; only may the Lord make good his[d] word.” So the woman stayed at home and nursed her son until she had weaned him.
24 After he was weaned, she took the boy with her, young as he was, along with a three-year-old bull,[e] an ephah[f] of flour and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh.25 When the bull had been sacrificed, they brought the boy to Eli, 26 and she said to him, “Pardon me, my lord. As surely as you live, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. 27 I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. 28 So now I give him to theLord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.

After our church service, our families gathered together at my mom & dad's for lunch and some good lovin' on Bekah!
